Part of my job involves web page optimization and improving search engine results. I like that when I blog, I don't think about these things at all. The title makes no sense to anyone who is searching for a homeschool blog (or a book blog, or meaningless junk blog).
Knowing about the work that goes into getting listed in search engines, I figured my blog would be lost in cyberspace. It is in a pretty remote corner, but Yahoo and Google have indexed me (I like not worrying about search engine results, but I can't resist checking them). You won't find me under any top searches, but it is interesting to see what people have searched for to find me.
Here are some searches:
1. private school in idaho
2. napoleon dynamite liger tigon
3. napoleon dynamite liger vs. tigon
4. napoleon dynamite mtv spot tigon
5. sexy baby amira
6. my own private idaho
7. my own private idaho mormon
8. private idaho phrase
9. world of admin birds bats lewis
10. lchan
When I saw my own private idaho, I thought that's funny, someone looking for the song or the movie. When I saw my own private idaho mormon, I was pretty sure that person was looking for me. I'm not sure about lchan.
I feel a little bad posting #5 (I numbered them, so I wouldn't have to write that out too many times). This is funny, but also creeps me out a little. It's funny that my posts on Napoleon Dynamite and Hyperemesis combined with comments from Amira (someone who is nice enough to comment on my blog and has a great blog) came together to bring some whackjob to my site.
I don't know that the Napoleon Dynamite searchers found what they were looking for, but I'm glad to be of any service I can. I'm #1 on Yahoo for napoleon dynamite mtv spot tigon, which I'm fairly certain will result in that one hit.
I'm most pleased about the person looking for the C.S. Lewis quote. That's cool.
